Spring has Sprung!

Alex is getting ready to play a little ditty for you.

Ready?

"Here comes Peter Cottontail, hoppin' down the bunny trail ...

... hippity, hoppity, Easter's on its way!"

There's definitely some musical genius in there somewhere, just itching to get out.

We headed out to Highland Park for the Eggstravaganza last Saturday, where we got our first taste of spring.

He didn't find many eggs, but he catch a glimpse of the Easter bunny.

On Sunday, he celebrated his best friend Oliver's first birthday. He got all decked out in his party pants for the occasion.

While Oliver ate cake,

Alex talked to his friend Laine about what it's like to be an entire year old. The best part, she told him, is that you get to ride around on cool toys like this bus. Alex is intrigued.

He ponders how long it will be until his first birthday.

Until then, he'll settle for the slide.

Party favor?

This is more like it...

BREAKING NEWS!

Special ALERT from Alex Johnson ... REPEAT: Special ALERT ...

Last week was a big week. Alex said his first word and took his first steps. After repeated efforts - and some bribes - we were finally able to capture both on camera.

You can imagine how pleased his daddy is with his choice of a first word. If you saw his collection of toys, you wouldn't be surprised...

Monkeys and Leprechauns

Last Sunday, we took our little monkey to the zoo for the first time.

(Note: Alex not pictured)

He was feeling a little under the weather but seemed to be mildly entertained.

This weekend's activity was the St. Patrick's Day parade.

Alex, who forgot to wear green, waited patiently for the parade to begin.

Still waiting.

Hey - where are those guys?

At last, some action.

Alex was not so impressed.

We decided to retreat to Daddy's office, where we could watch the parade at a safe distance from the Vikings.

Alex had way more fun exploring the conference room and feeling very official.

The playground experiment

On this beautiful Saturday, Alex made his playground debut.

He seems to be a natural.
