Playtime, Pumpkins & Canadians

Alex met his first Canadian relatives last week when great uncle Earle and great aunt Barb stopped in en route to Florida. He was thrilled to finally meet some of his northern neighbors!

On Sunday, we headed to the Pumpkin Festival in Montgomery County. Alex enjoyed meeting some four-legged friends, listening to bluegrass music, and picking out a pumpkin.

When he's not out and about, Alex can be found playing with his toys and rolling around and around on the floor.

Going Bananas for Carrots

Alex has a new love in life: carrots. While his attitude towards rice cereal could be described as guarded ambivalence at best, carrots send him into a frenzy of excitement.

When he sees the carrots coming, he pumps his arms and legs up and down, unable to contain himself. We hope that by his 5th birthday we'll be able to feed him without having to bathe him immediately after.

All I Want For Christmas Is ...

Alex got an early Christmas present last week - TWO FRONT TEETH! In light of this break-through, we decided it was time to try some solid food.

But before you see the end result, we think it might be worthwhile to show you what led us to this point. We started noticing Alex was hungry. Very hungry.

Notwithstanding Daddy's attempts to read to Alex, all Alex wanted to do was eat.

Even with his toys, Alex would see new friend ...

... eat new friend.

He likes lion

and he likes elephant. (He really doesn't discriminate.)

Here Alex wonders why I'm holding a camera and not a bottle.

Frustrated, Alex takes matters into his own hands.

Alex and co-conspirator plan next meal.

Ah, Fresh Market. A favorite of both Alex and Mom.

Finally, the day for solid food has arrived. Alex is overcome with anticipation.

Growing impatient, he resorts to eating his bib.

First bite ...

... not exactly what he expected.

After realizing what little food he is taking in via spoon, Alex goes straight for the bowl.

Stay tuned for more as Alex looks forward to another meal!
