Busy bee

Alex had a busy week last week.  He watched baseball with dad.

(I wonder what they're talking about ... )

At playgroup, he grabbed at some toys.

He practiced sitting in his Bumbo.

He started drooling significantly & wore the evidence on his overalls.

And finally, he took his first trip to Claytor Lake with his buddy Oliver Rosen.

Alex loved relaxing in the shade.

Hit me with your best shot

Alex went to the pediatrician today for his shots.

At 10 weeks old, he weighed in at a whopping 13 pounds 14 ounces.

So Grandma Susie did some exercises with him...

... and then taught him to stick his tongue out.

Pre-shots.  He has no idea what is about to hit him.

Post-shots, and after 2 ounces of milk.  One day we'll teach him not to use food for comfort.  (But not today.)

Summer fun

Hanging out with Grandma Susie by the pool.

He's about to get his tootsies dunked ...

This was definitely not the warm bath water he loves.

Cribmates

Alex, hanging with his buddy Oliver Rosen, with whom he shares a nanny.  They appear to be the same size, but Oliver is six weeks older.  Yikes.  Our son is a moose.

Happy Birthday, America!

Alex was super excited about his first major holiday!

Our friends the Ellermans graciously invited us to celebrate the Fourth of July at their house.

Daddy played ladderball

... and then got creative when things went wrong.

Everyone else took a dip in the pool...

... except Alex.

Alex eventually woke up to watch the fireworks.

He was clearly mesmerized.  So much so, in fact, that he slept 8 consecutive hours once he got home (a new personal best!).  Mom wishes there were fireworks every night.
